Privacy Policy

From the Vine Juices is operated by From the Vine Juices LLC of [TODO: business address]. We decide how the information described here is handled, and we are the people to contact about it.

This policy covers fromthevinejuices.com and everything connected to an order: the build form, your account, the emails we send and the batch sheet our kitchen presses from.

• We ask about your allergies, your diet and your medications so a person can decide what is safe to put in your bottles.
• A human reads those answers. They are never fed to an automated system that makes a clinical judgement about you.
• We do not sell your information, and we never share it for advertising.

The rest of this page is the detail behind those four lines. Where the detail and the summary disagree, the detail is what we do.

Almost all of it comes from you, in the build form or at checkout. We do not buy information about you from anybody.

Contact details

Your name, email address and phone number. Phone is for handover day - a locked door or a missed delivery is not something an email solves in time.

Health and dietary answers

• Allergies: the ones you tick from our list, and anything you write in the note underneath.
• Dietary restrictions, such as vegan, gluten-free, diabetic-friendly, plus any note you add.
• Whether you take any medications or supplements and, if you do, which ones.
• Foods you would rather avoid, and how you like things to taste.
• Up to 5 health goals, in the order that matters to you.

Order details

The pack you chose, whether you are collecting or having it delivered, your delivery address if you are, which weekly batch you are in, and your order history.

Payment

Handled entirely by Stripe. Your card number never touches our servers. We keep an identifier that lets us ask Stripe about your payments, and the outcome of each one.

Technical

Ordinary server logs kept by our host, and one cookie named ftv_draft holding a random id so an unfinished form can be found again. The cookie holds nothing but that id.

This is the sensitive part of the form and we treat it that way.

We ask because we are pressing something you will drink, made specifically for you. Allergies decide what must be kept out. Medications matter because juice genuinely interacts with some of them - citrus with a number of drugs, leafy greens with anticoagulants, sugar with blood glucose. Goals and taste decide what goes in.

When a profile mentions medications, or you have left a note about an allergy, the order is marked for review. The alert that reaches our kitchen says that a profile needs reading and gives the order reference. It does not contain what you wrote - that stays in the database, behind a login.

We use these answers to build and press your juice, to ask you a question about it, and for nothing else. They are not used to decide your price, to target advertising, to score or profile you, or to decide whether you can have an account.

You do not have to answer. If you leave out something that matters we may not be able to press for you safely, and we would rather decline an order than guess.

• Contact details: to confirm an order, to tell you a batch is closing or a payment failed, and to find you on handover day.
• Order details: to press the right thing, to hand it to the right person in the right place, and to keep the accounts.
• Payment records: to take payment, to refund it, and to meet our tax obligations.
• Logs: to keep the site running and to investigate abuse or a fault.

People at From the Vine Juices who need it to plan a batch, press it and hand it over. Reading a health profile needs a signed-in account with access to our internal tools; there is no public link to one and it is never printed anywhere it could be left lying around.

Outside that, we share information only with the service providers listed below, and where the law requires it - a lawful request from an authority, or defending a legal claim. If we were ever bought or merged, your information would move with the business, and we would tell you before it did.

We are a small kitchen, not a data centre. These companies process information on our behalf, under contract, and may only use it to provide their service to us.

• Clerk - accounts and sign-in. Holds your email, your name and your credentials. We never see your password.
• Stripe - payments. Your card details go to Stripe directly and never reach our servers. Stripe is the payment controller for that data and applies its own privacy policy.
• Railway - the managed Postgres database where your profile, your orders and your health answers are stored.
• Vercel - hosting. Serves the site and keeps short-lived request logs.
• Resend - transactional email. Order confirmations, batch reminders and payment notices pass through it.

Your health answers themselves live in the database at Railway. They are not copied into an email, a spreadsheet or an advertising tool.

• We do not sell your personal information. Not any of it, ever.
• We do not share it with advertisers, data brokers, insurers or employers.
• We do not use your allergies, medications or health goals to target advertising, on this site or anywhere else.
• We do not run third-party advertising or analytics trackers on fromthevinejuices.com.

• Unfinished forms are deleted 30 days after you last touched them. They are kept on our server rather than in your browser precisely because they contain health answers.
• Health profiles are kept while your account is active, so we can press your next batch without asking you everything again, and for [TODO: retention period] after your last order.
• Order and payment records are kept for as long as tax and accounting law requires.

A profile is versioned rather than overwritten: when you change an answer we write a new version and keep the old one, because we have to be able to say what a batch was pressed against. A deletion request removes every version.

Everything travels over an encrypted connection and is stored in a managed database that is not open to the internet. Access needs an account, passwords are held by Clerk rather than by us, and card details are never ours to lose because they go straight to Stripe.

No system is perfectly secure and we will not claim otherwise. If information of yours were ever exposed, we would tell you and the relevant authority as quickly as we could, and tell you what was involved.

You can ask us to:

• Show you what we hold about you.
• Correct anything wrong. Allergy, medication and dietary answers can also be updated yourself from the build form, and the change applies from the next batch that has not closed.
• Delete it. We will remove your profile, every version of it, and your account, keeping only what we are legally required to hold for tax and accounting. An active subscription is cancelled as part of this.
• Send you a copy of it in a portable format.
• Stop emailing you anything except the messages an order genuinely needs.

Email hello@fromthevinejuices.com from the address on your account. We will answer within 7 days and tell you what we did. We will never charge you for asking, and we will never treat you differently for having asked.

Depending on where you live you may have further rights under Georgia law, including the right to complain to a regulator.

We use the few cookies the site needs to work: one to keep you signed in through Clerk, and ftv_draft, which holds a random id so an unfinished form can be found again. There are no advertising cookies and no third-party trackers, so there is nothing here to opt out of.

You must be 18 or over to order, and this site is not meant for children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we will delete it. Please also read what our terms say about raw juice and young children.

If we change this policy, the version on this page with the date at the top is the current one. If a change materially affects how we handle your health answers, we will email you rather than rely on you noticing a new date.
